10 Days of Prayer for friends in Trauma
Hi Friends! I’m SUPER excited to share 10 Days of Prayer for Friends in Trauma with you! I am confident that we were carried by the prayers of multitudes when we faced the devastation we did during our months at hospital with Judah. In fact, I believe we still are!
Day 1 & 2:
God hears our prayers and He is moving supernaturally on our behalf and for His greatest glory, always. I wanted to provide words for when there are none. I found it difficult to pray so many days over our long journey. I became discouraged when I felt that my prayers were not being answered. I was weary with grief. I know the intercession of the Holy Spirit and my prayer warrior friends carried me and each one of my family members through. So don’t give up on praying your friend through it! Keep lifting your request to our loving Heavenly Father and wait for Him to show Himself faithful. He is and He will. 1 John 5:14-15
Have you ever found it hard to endure in prayer for loved ones who are facing difficulty? If so, what has helped you endure in the battle with them? I’d love to hear what has helped you stay engaged in the battle.
I hope this will help you lift your loved ones to the Father consistently when they are facing the fire of devastation and heartbreak. I will also share this on the “When Hope is Real” page and you can share from there!

Day 3 & 4
Heavenly Father, Please draw near (friend’s name) today and give her peace for the questions. I pray Lord that when she is angry, she would come to You. When she is confused, she would come to You. When she is frustrated beyond what she can bear, she will come to You. Father, please do not allow her questions to cause her to believe lies about you. The enemy seeks to destroy her, but you have said she is yours. Darkness cannot overtake your daughter. I pray that you will answer her questions with your truth just as you did your servant Job. Remind her that you are the God who created all things and in you all things hold together.
Remind her that your knowledge and understanding are infinite and your power incomprehensible; that you do not sleep nor slumber and that you see her and are working in all of the unknowns. I ask that through those around her, you would bring truth and hope in the ways that only you can. When she wants to run because she is having trouble making sense of what she is seeing, speak to her heart Lord. Hold her. Carry her. Keep her. She has questions that scare her. Help her surrender. Answer her questions with exactly what she needs! We cannot make sense of some of the things you allow into our lives, but today, in these moments,
I ask for you to graciously meet her and give her the supernatural peace that you provide for your children who suffer and put her questions to rest in Your perfect love. Guard her heart in your truth. I lay her at your feet today trusting that you alone are providing for her every need. In Jesus name, Amen.
Scripture Meditations: Job 10:2, Matthew 27:46, John 13:7, Psalm 73, Job 42:2-3, Romans 15:13, Psalm 13

Day 5: Help Our Unbelief
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the fact that you are seated on the throne. You have authority over all created things and you are perfectly good. Honestly, when we look around us, it is sometimes hard to believe that you are truly good. Especially when we are looking at something so painful. Father, today help (friend’s name) believe in your goodness. Remind her of the love you have shown at the cross. Give her the courage to say, “I believe” even when what she is seeing is discouraging. Help us in our unbelief God! We are lost without you.
Draw near to us as we draw near to you Lord. When she looks and sees things that confuse her, whisper “believe” to her. When she faces what infuriates her, whisper “believe” to her. You have told us your grace is sufficient. Help us believe. You have told us you work all things for good. Help us believe. You have told us victory and vengeance is yours. Help us believe. You have told us you love us. Help us believe. You have told us you are perfectly good. Help us believe. You have told us to be still; that you are God and you are fighting for us. Help us believe, Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.

Day 6: Bind Up The Broken Hearted
Heavenly Father,
You are Holy. Your ways are not our ways. They are higher than we can comprehend. Father, when we know you rightly we will long for your will to be done, just as Jesus did. (Friend’s name)’s heart is broken Lord. Your word says you are near to the broken hearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. Please cause her to know that today.
Remind her that it is you that will bind up her wounds. It is you who came for the broken-hearted; to save us and heal us and bring us to you, where nothing will be broken any longer. Nothing and nobody. Please help her to remember Father. Remind her of who you are and who that makes her. You are more than able to heal every wound-emotional, mental, physical and I’m asking today that you would heal her emotional wounds in every way. Carry her through Lord.
Restore her and help her to see the beauty in the broken. You were broken for us and we are broken over the ones we love and the pain we have. Father I ask that as she navigates this journey, you would give her a deeper understanding of who you are and how you suffered. Make us more like you Lord. You are true and right and everything good. Use her broken heart to bring the heartbroken hope. Only you can walk her through-but use me in that as you see fit, Lord. Help me to be your hands and feet. In Jesus name, Amen.
Scripture Meditations: Psalm 34:18, Psalm 51:8, Psalm 71:20, Hosea 2:14-16, Psalm 30:11-12, Psalm 113:7-8

Day 7: Fix Her Gaze On THE UNSEEN
Heavenly Father,
You are seated and ruling from your throne in heaven. You are an awesome God who can do all things. Remind (friend’s name) today that heaven is a real place. Bring to her thoughts the unseen realities that are the realities that truly matter. Yes this life matters and yes it hurts so much. This is why you came. You came to make it so that one day, nothing will hurt ever again. No more disease, nor more death, no more brokenness and no more darkness. Remind her that the things we see we are only a shadow of what is to come; good and bad. When she sees the good and experiences joy, remind her that in heaven, she can expect far better than her greatest on earth.
When she sees the bad and experiences heartbreak, remind her that it will be gone. Give her a picture of what it’s like to be in a perfect eternity… forever with you and the ones she lives the most. Help her to know and trust that IT WILL ALL BE WORTH IT. Every tear, every ache, every bit of her hurt will be completely worth it. We don’t know how but we believe what you have promised. We believe that you really know better. We believe that you are who you say you are and you’ve gone ahead of us to prepare a place to bring us to when that time comes. Lord you have told us not to fear, not to worry, not to let our hearts be troubled because you KNOW WHAT REALITY WINS.
That reality is eternity and it will NEVER END. Heaven is home. Not this earth and not this life. Help her to know that heaven is her true home. We can’t grasp it Lord but I ask you to graciously give her a glimpse of it. As we walk through the land of shadows, reassure her that you are leading us to a more than perfect home, with you, our loving creator, forever. In Jesus name, Amen.

Day 8: Help Us ENDURE
Heavenly Father,
You are Holy and good. You are perfectly loving and kind to us. You are a good, good Father. Sometimes, we don’t have the capacity to see things clearly in our pain. I ask that you would help (friend’s name) to endure the trial in front of her. We don’t know how long. We don’t know what it will take for her to walk through it but we know you do and you supply every single thing that we need. I’m asking that you would cause her faith to endure and flourish as you promise you will.
I pray that she would be mature and complete, lacking nothing as she presses into you in this season. Remind her that as she waits for you, you will renew her strength, Lord. Comfort her as time passes and moving forward is painful regardless of what she faces. Speak to her heart tenderly as you walk her through. Bring her joy again Father and help her to see the fruit of endurance in her life. Steady her feet and solidify her soul in your word and in your presence.
The enemy will not get satisfaction in her destruction because she is yours and because of your enduring love, she will endure. In Jesus name, Amen.

Day 9: Bring Good OH LORD
Heavenly Father,
You are Holy. You are good and your love for us endures forever. Your ways are unsearchable and your thoughts are too many and too much for me to grasp. I thank you that you tell us in your word that you are working everything together for the good of those who are called. Remind (friend’s name) of that truth. When things are the hardest, help change her perspective. When what she sees is terrifying and what she experiences is devastating, remind her that you see and that you are working in it with great purpose. Renew her heart and mind today.
Help her to see any kind of good you could be working through her pain. Cause her to see that you really can raise beauty from the ashes. Bring people alongside her to encourage and support her in this. God, you have eternal purpose in all things. We may never understand it all until we see you, but we can trust that you are using it ALL FOR GOOD. Give her a renewed sense of purpose in her pain. Lead her to the people she needs to walk out that purpose and that will support her and love her as she gives herself and her pain to the world to serve you. Cause her to courageously seek your plans out for her life and trust you to bring increasing good along the way.
Meet with her today Lord and strengthen her heart as only you can. If I can come alongside her in any way, lead me in that Lord. I lift my friend to you Lord and trust your good for her. In Jesus name, Amen.
Scripture Meditations: Romans 8:28-30, Psalm 16:5, Jeremiah 29:11-13, Psalm 33, Proverbs 16:9, Proverbs 19:21

Day 10: Heaven IS HOME
Heavenly Father,
We praise you because you are God and are worthy of our praise. You are set apart as King and you will bring your kingdom soon. Father, when we hurt, we ask all kinds of questions because we are a people who love to figure things out. We thrive on having answers. We understand deeply that things aren’t right here on this earth. I ask that you would bring heaven to mind in (friend’s name)’s life today. You have promised that some day, all of these shadows will disappear. When you set your kingdom in it’s right and permanent place, we will weep no more.
You will make all things new in ways we cannot imagine. Remind her that the suffering will end. No more aches, no more disease, no more heartbreak, no more pain, no more “why’s.” It will all be gone and we’ll have an ETERNITY to live there, with You. The perfect creator of all things and lover of our souls. Our lives here seem long, but You Lord have said they are brief. They come and go as quickly as the flowers in a field. Everything in eternity will make sense to us because this is eternity is what we were made for. We will see things clearly, as they actually are, and we will not have a single regret. Not one wish or desire.
All will be fulfilled and we will experience joy and peace everlasting. Perfect love meets it’s redeemed bride. When the aches come, remind her of the place you said you were going to prepare. Remind her that you’re coming back to get her and the rest of those who know you and all will be made right. Lord, I know it won’t take her pain away, but I ask that you would stir a hope inside of her that cannot be moved. Solidify her resolve to walk with YOU all the way home. Remind her that you will be faithful to complete the good work you started in her. You will come back for her in the blink of an eye. No more night. No more tears. Heaven is home. In Jesus name, Amen.
